- Date: 4-5 October
- Time: 10:30am -4:30pm
- Location: Wolverhampton Art Gallery
"A Welcoming Table" is an exhibition using storytelling and visual arts to amplify underrepresented voices, challenge stereotypes, and inspire positive change within Black communities. Alongside the art, the project incorporates fashion, sponsored by Wolverhampton’s African Fashion Shop, owned by Zeal and Nora Obryan, showcasing African attire as professional and stylish expressions of heritage. Aurea, who has lived in Wolverhampton for 16 years, was motivated by personal experiences of being sidelined, deciding to create her own space for voices like hers. Participants include author Pamela R. Haynes and poet Jannette Barrett, who share their personal journeys. Neville Haynes reflected on his parents’ love story and hopes such stories of love, resilience, and hard work will inspire future generations.
